The journey
to change our underserved Communities into a thriving Community
Golacity Community Resource (GCR) is a non-profit organization that provides direct services to disadvantaged communities. We work to generate improvements within a community on the local level. We recruit volunteers passionate about helping to carry out the organization's mission.
GCR serves primarily as the middleman for resources and actions within community development.
What We Are Doing In The Community
Community Service
Our aim is to improve the lives of others, especially disadvantaged communities through direct services. Direct service includes tutoring, job training, serving meals, , helping refugee families, and more.
Entrepreneurship Training
The Entrepreneur Training Program (ETP) is a 24-hour business start-up training for entrepreneurs that want to start a new business but are not sure where to begin. Participants can also take advantage of our free business consulting services in order to help them complete their business plan, receive the proper licenses and permits, and apply for start-up business loans.
Work Readiness
Work readiness training programs prepare participants to secure, retain, and succeed in a new job. Work readiness programs also help participants develop effective work habits that facilitate their ongoing success. On a local basis, our employer partners offer insights and information on what it takes to succeed in their business.
Refugee Resettlement Support Services (RRSS)
The Refugee Resettlement Support Services (RRSS) help address the many barriers resettled refugees faces daily. Our staff assist clients with:
Youth Programs
Our program supports parents and families who have children and young adults by providing a safe, accepting and inclusive environment where they can enjoy sports, art, music and many other social programs with their peers. Our friendly staff and helpful volunteers create a fun experience for all. It is our belief that every person is precious and capable of love, connection and friendship.
Teens Take-On Boss-Ship (TTOB)
Summer Program
Our focus is to propel youth from under-resourced communities towards success in high school, vocational training, and career in entrepreneurship. We mentor 9th through 12th graders the basics of entrepreneurship-from developing a business plan to running their business. This is a four-week summer program and is done virtually online.
Students can showcase and sell their products at our Annual Conference in partnership with Golacity Premier Solutions.
